There is no doubt that we are an outward facing society. At first glance, we often make judgements about ourselves and people we meet based on their appearance. (Mostly, we judge ourselves.)
Do you remember the saying, never judge a book by it’s cover because it’s what’s on the inside that counts?
"Never be fooled by what you see on the outside because on the inside it's often a different story." - Unknown
It truly is what’s on the inside that counts for you, me and everyone else we meet.
Think about it.
Everything you have accomplished, all the challenges that you’ve been through, all the obstacles you’ve overcome in your life are not because of your appearance but because of the qualities you possess.
Yet, women are lead to believe that our power and our value is in being young and beautiful.
It’s what we’re made of that matters.
So what are you made of?
What are you?
Resilient?
Courageous?
Intelligent?
Fun loving?
Kind?
Energetic?
Resourceful?
Confident?
Independant?
Joyful?
Funny?
Entertaining?
Quick witted?
Strategic?
Smart?
There are infinite possibilities. I could go on and on.
When I work with women, I often have them take an inventory and reflect on what they are made of. Lot’s of times, it’s a great reminder that they are in fact pretty amazing.
I encourage you to do the same. Ask yourself, "What am I”?
What you are is sexy.
Adrienne
