This time last year, my husband and I starting taking a really good look at our lives and asking ourselves:
I believe that you have the power to create a life you love. And to do that, you need to get clear on what it is you want.
We found ourselves not loving where we were living. (Don’t get me wrong, it was a beautiful condo and the location was great.) However, we weren’t thriving there.
Our challenge was that we didn’t know where we wanted to live. We knew we wanted to winter somewhere warm and spend summers at our cabin in Wisconsin.
And, I knew this: I wanted someplace I could walk, where there was sunshine, where I could swim and where we could be active.
“The great secret of getting what you want from life is to know what you want and believe you can have it.” - Norman Vincent Peale
We had clarity on a just a few things but it was a start. I knew I wanted a house again. I missed my garden and I missed entertaining. I knew I wanted to live where people are friendly and happy.
Not knowing all the answers, we embarked on our journey. We just kept taking the next step that was in front of us and things started to unfold in a magical way.
We learned that sometimes clarity comes with taking action. You don’t need to know all the answers. You just need to take the next step and have faith. Faith is huge. Faith came in really handy when we hit a major speed bump in our adventure. (I’ll tell you all about that next week.)
How about you? What is it that you want out of your life? Your relationships? Your world of work? How do you want to spend your precious time?
Knowing what you want is sexy.
